October 30, 1966 - Cheri Jo Bates is murdered on Riverside Community College campus. A confession letter was sent to police soon after, and years later, The Zodiac Killer claimed responsibility, though his direct confession contained inaccuracies of the crime. A Riverside student was believed to have been the killer, but DNA evidence has since cleared him. Her murder remains unsolved.
Luka Rocco Magnotta
Born Eric Clinton Kirk Newman, Luka Mangotta is a Canadian pornographic actor and model accused of killing and dismembering Lin Jun, a Chinese international student, then mailing his severed limbs to the offices of Canadian political parties and to elementary schools in another province.
After a video allegedly depicting Magnotta stabbing, killing, sodomizing and cannibalizing Lin Jun was posted online (One Lunatic, One Ice Pick), he fled the country, becoming the subject of an Interpol Red Notice and prompting an international manhunt. He was apprehended on June 4, 2012, in an Internet café in Berlin, while reading news stories about himself.
Luka was previously sought by animal rights groups for allegedly making videos of himself torturing kittens and posting them online.
When rat torture was used, the hands and feet are tied down, and the stomach is covered with a metal container with a rat inside. The container is slowly heated, and the rat rips through your digestive tract to escape.

John Wayne Gacy lived in a suburb of Chicago and murdered thirty-three young men, mostly by suffocation, first torturing them by sticking an eighteen-inch wooden dildo up their behinds. (One dildo was recovered, half its length coated with dried blood and feces.) He buried most of the victims in a mucky crawl space under his house. He was executed by lethal injection, but while he was waiting in the death house in Menard Correctional Center in Illinois, he was given a questionnaire, featuring very ordinary questions, and his answers were astonishing, granted who he was, demonstrating that people - including serial killers - are able to separate their secret and public lives. The ‘Pajama Girl’ Case
On 1 September 1934, the badly burnt body of a young woman, viciously battered about the head and wearing only pajamas, was found in a road culvert in the township of Albury on the New South Wales-Victoria border in rural Australia. Althought Sydney police reconstructed the dead woman’s features and made composite drawings of what she may have looked like in life the also took the extraordinary step of preserving the body in a formalin bath. During the next decade tens of thousands of people viewed the ghastly remains at the University of Sydney, and later Sydney police headquarters, before it was positively identified in 1944. When the body was examined, the victim, dressed in canary yellow and white pajamas, was determined to be between 25 and 30 years old. Her head had been protected from fire damage because it was wrapped in a towel, and she had a large laceration on the forehead and a puncture mark-most likely by a small-caliber bullet-under her right eye. Her skull was fractured on the left side, but it was not until later that a local Gp located the bullet with the use of an X-ray. The fact that the woman had been shot was not revealed to the public until the inquest in 1938. The dead woman was identified as Linda Agostini and it was her husband, Tony Agostini who confessed to murdering her by accident, he was found guilty of manslaughter and served three years and nine months in prison.

March 16, 2011 (first photo): An emaciated Pitbull-mix is discovered in a garbage bag by maintenance workers at the bottom of a 19-story tall garbage chute. The dog is immobile, but ALIVE. This is how he looked on arrival that Newark’s animal shelter that night.
The 22 story apartment building is equipped with garbage chutes on each floor for tenants. Someone had no more use for this dog. They had starved it to near death, put it in a garbage bag and threw it down the garbage chute. A maintenance worker cleans out the bin every few days and on Wednesday, March 16th, they were cleaning out the contents of the container to go directly into a trash compacter. The bag moved a little and the worker opened it to find a moribund dog inside — pathetically thin, cold and near death.
The City of Newark Animal Control was contacted and ACO Arthur Skinner picked up the dog and brought him directly to the Society. The veterinary staff immediately put him on intravenous fluid. His temperature was so low that it did not even register on the thermomenter. He was covered with heating pads and blankets.
After a brief time at the Society’s Newark facility, he was ambulanced to Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls — a referral hospital with 24 hour emergency care. If he died during that night, we feel he would know that everyone loved and cared about him and treated him gently and lovingly. He amazed everyone at the Society and at Garden State by surviving with the 24 hour emergency care that they rendered. He was given a blood transfusion, a bath — and even a walk! In honor of the first day of his re-birth, we call him Patrick — in honor of St. Patrick’s Day and we hope he has the luck of the Irish!March 17, 2011 (second photo): Once stabilized, he’s moved to GSVS Pet Hospital for continuous intensive care. It is now St. Patrick’s Day, and the GSVS staff decide to call him Patrick.

Patrick! I always mention my love for animals, and where this happened is about 10 minutes from where I live. I followed this puppy’s recovery, and it is so inspirational and amazing.
I never thought I’d say this, but I truly admire this dog.
